Required Training for All Employees

Training is an essential part of an effective compliance and ethics program. Education and training has been developed to ensure that the UCLA community understands their responsibilities.

The topics listed below include training courses that all employees are required to complete campuswide. Please note that in support of Chancellor Block's directive regarding the importance of mandatory training, employees must have completed the required systemwide training applicable to their position to be eligible for a Staff Appreciation and Recognition (STAR) Award. These trainings are available through the UC Learning Center, a learning management system (LMS) deployed across the University of California for systemwide employee training and development. To access required training, log into the UC Learning Center using your UCLA Logon ID and password.

Abusive Conduct in the Workplace Training

This training provides an overview of the University of California's Abusive Conduct in the Workplace Policy. Topics include: an overview of what is and is not abusive conduct; guidance on how to prevent abusive conduct; guidance on how to respond to and report abusive conduct; and resources and reporting options available to UC community members who have experienced or witnessed abusive conduct.

Cyber Security Awareness Training

The eCourse on information security awareness training covers basic information regarding security, email, passwords, and social engineering, in addition to introducing contemporary threats and teaching good behaviors that protect information.

Ethical Values and Conduct Training

The purpose of the mandatory UC Ethics Briefing is to raise awareness of the UC Statement of Ethical Values and Standards of Ethical Conduct adopted by The Regents in May of 2005. It will also clarify how to apply the Standards and encourage their use by providing examples of ethical challenges that may arise in the workplace.

This course prepares employees to navigate emergency evacuations with confidence by providing practical insights into the safe evacuation process, including step-by-step guidance on evacuation procedures. Additionally, employees will learn how to contribute effectively to their department's Emergency Action Plan.

Sexual Violence/Sexual Harassment Prevention Training Program

This training program will help employees learn about and understand their role in ensuring that the University community remains free of all forms of discrimination and harassment, including sexual harassment and violence, which is prohibited by law and UC Policy.
