UCLA publishes a Daily Crime and Fire Log in compliance with the Clery Act which requires that criminal incidents reported to the UCLA PD be disclosed on this log within two business days of receipt of the report. The Daily Crime and Fire Log is now available online. The most current 60 days of the log is available online.
A hard copy of the log is also available, free of charge, by request at the front lobby of the UCLA PD Station at 601 Westwood Plaza Los Angeles, CA 90095-1364.
According to Federal Law, an institution may withhold any of the required fields of entry, (i.e. the nature, dates, times, location and/or disposition) if any of the following conditions apply:
- The disclosure is prohibited by law
- If disclosure would jeopardize the confidentiality of the victim
- If disclosure would jeopardize an ongoing criminal investigation or the safety of an individual
- If disclosure would cause a suspect to flee or evade detection
- If disclosure would result in the destruction of evidence
