UCLA Police Officer Misconduct

The Community Safety Oversight Committee (CSOC)  reviews complaints of police misconduct. All complaints will receive a fair and objective review. Investigations are performed by the UCLA Compliance Office, either directly or with the assistance of an independent group. Complaint forms can be found below. 

Any person directly affected by UCLA police misconduct may file a complaint. You do not need to be a UCLA student, staff, or faculty member, or a U.S. citizen, to file a complaint.  

Anonymous complaints are accepted. 

Examples of Complaints 

A violation of department policy, University policy, or federal, state, or local law involving 

  • Improper arrest, search, seizure or stop
  • Improper or inadequate investigation
  • Improper police procedures
  • Improper detention procedure
  • Excessive force
  • Discrimination
  • Harassment
