Timely Warnings and Emergency Notifications

The Clery Act establishes specific requirements designed to keep the campus community informed about potential threats to their safety and well-being, enabling individuals to take appropriate precautions to protect themselves. The Clery Compliance Office collaborates with campus partners to ensure adherence to campus safety alert requirements and to promote a transparent and secure campus environment.

Timely Warnings

A Timely Warning is issued for incidents that meet all of the following criteria:

Timely warnings are sent by UCLA PD via email. See the UCLA PD Timely Warning site for more information. UCLA community members cannot opt out of receiving Timely Warnings to their UCLA-affiliated email address.

Emergency Notifications (BruinAlerts)

An Emergency Notification is issued to immediately notify the campus community upon confirmation of a significant emergency or dangerous situation occurring on the campus that involves an immediate threat to the health or safety of students or employees.

BruinAlerts are issued via Everbridge by the UCLA Office of Emergency Management and/or UCLA PD.
See the Bruins Safe Online site for more information.
